Workin' for THE Man

We read a story this week,
me and some sisters,
in Thursday night Bible Study.

A sweet truth for Mondays
or any day.

During a frustrating commute
one Monday morning,
a driver observed a traffic flagman
as he performed his job.

Seemingly oblivious to the July sun,
blaring horns, and impatient commuters,
the man swung his orange flags
in wide, graceful arcs
and called out friendly greetings
to passing motorists.

Astounded by the joy this man exhibited
in what most would consider a boring job,
the driver rolled down the car window
and asked the man
how he could be so enthusiastic.

He shouted back,
"I'm happy because I'm not working for the man.
I'm a flagman for Jesus!"

Whether it's work or play,

WHATEVER fills your day,
take this truth with you.

And whatsoever ye do,
do it heartily,
as to the Lord,
and not unto men;
Knowing that of the Lord
ye shall receive the reward
of the inheritance:
for ye serve the Lord Christ.
Col 3:23-24

ALL is worship
when done for Jesus.
